Sarclad is proud to announce its first sale of the industry-leading Electro-Discharge Texturing (EDT) MSA machine into China. This breakthrough sale with premier roll service centre Jiangyin Runyuan, marks a significant milestone in the company’s progression in the world’s largest steel market.

Sarclad launched the Multi-Servo-Array (MSA) in 2022 offering unrivalled roll texturing performance and control through the unique electrode array design. Sales were quickly secured to flagship steel mills in the United States (Neo for SDI Sinton) and in India (AMNS Hazira). Today’s announcement ensures that the step change in performance that the MSA brings, will be evident in the Chinese market from 2025 onwards. Runyuan supply a host of leading steel mills including the Baowu Steel Group, who are continually looking for improvements in strip texture for highly surface critical applications such as automotive external panels, white goods and packaging applications, where precise control of low roughness (Ra) on the roll and strip is extremely. important.

The 36- electrode machine will be installed at Runyuan in May 2025, complimenting previous EDT models that the customer has purchased from Sarclad over recent years. The customer will be supported by Sarclad’s service hub team based in Shanghai, who responsively ensure performance on the full fleet of Sarclad EDT units in the market.
